"Our streets need better facilities for walking and bicycling."

Throughout the charrette process we heard from the community that Maple Valley's streets need to accommodate many modes of transportation. They need to provide safe and convenient access for pedestrians, bicycles and cars. The walkway photos that received the highest scores reinforce your comments.

The street above provides the most pedestrian friendly walkways with a sidewalk flanked by landscaping, a planting strip with street trees and on-street parking. This street does not appear to move as much vehicular traffic as the other two selected.
