Where do they work? Answer: Seattle, north, Renton, Kent. Major thoroughfare. We also have a lot of recreation traffic(skiers). We haven’t capitalized on this traffic. Answer: Been here 23 years; wants a comprehensive plan to maintain what we have right now, because we have lost a lot with traffic. Like trees, recreation. Sense of community; know everyone. On one hand you are saying you want a rural environment, yet you have a concern about walkability. Answer: We know we need sidewalks and certain things. But we want the ones with greenbelts and trees, which will still feel rural in character. Answer: Lived here two years. Commutes to Bellevue, which takes 35 minutes (considered a fast commute). Information about commutes are available at the library. Love the trail and parks; it is a beautiful community. Building lots are 5,000 sq ft and up. Trees are being removed too quickly; too much concrete Discussion: Growth management act dictates lot size (about 6 units per acre). All urban areas must accept state guidelines. (4 units per acre state, 6 per acre is a county mandate) Average. Is this good? Answer: Lot size should be decided by buyer. Mandate is hard because of wetlands issue. Affordable housing requires small lots.

Answers: 1) No. 2) Remember when you clear some trees they no longer protect the remaining trees, so you may be better off to plant new trees so they can establish themselves individually. 3) A good perimeter will take care of that. 4) Basic stewards, and conservation districts are resources for information on trees. Continue introductory questions : Answer: Moved 2-3 years ago because it was rural and safe. Stayed because of the sense of community. Answer: Project manager for Cedarburg River to Hobart project. To move here, extended family would have to be close by. Work would need to be accessible. Church is important. Lives in a strong neighborhood. Being from Covington, he wants to see partnering between the cities. Would also like to see trees buffer sidewalks; good commercial building design. Answer: Wants to get from charrette a reasonable, well planned road for infrastructure and identify a town center. We don’t have a downtown, but we do have commercial centers. Maybe we will have a town center with commercial centers and a skateboard facility. Moved here 18 years ago because of the school system. Enjoys the strong sports programs, sense of identity, and very family oriented nature of the area. |
