The City of Maple Valley Parks & Recreation Department has year-around schedule of programs and activities. Below please find the most current information on adult athletics and leagues offered.
Workout with your baby! Meet other moms and get in shape. This hour long class features cardio work out and body toning using your stroller! First class is free beginning May 5 at Lake Wilderness Park at 9:30 a.m.

Iyengar Yoga builds strength, flexibility and balance while developing a sense of clarity and well-being. The use of props, such as blocks, belts and blankets, assists students in attaining the postures based on individual needs. Class levels follow a progression where the fundamentals of postural alignment and technique are taught for the safety and performance of poses that follow in subsequent class levels.
Bring a sticky mat and any Yoga props you have: belt, block, blankets.
Introductory Iyengar Yoga Workshop - Learn postural alignment, simple stretches for the hips and legs, ways to release tension in the neck and shoulders, followed by relaxation.
Beginning Level 1 - Learn basic standing poses, seated twists, forward bends, easy backbends and reclining poses that stretch and strengthen the limbs and torso. No drop ins.
Continuing Beginner Level 1-2 - Practice and refinement of basic poses; for students with previous beginning Iyengar Yoga experience.
Advanced Beginner Level 2 - Practice and refine basic poses to develop strength, flexibility and balance. New poses will be introduced. Prerequisite: beginning Iyengar Yoga Level 1.
Intermediate Level 2-3 - More challenging standing poses, inversions and backbends are introduced to develop stamina, effort and surrender. Regular home practice is expected. Prerequisite: Iyengar Yoga Level 1-2.
Senior Yoga - Introduction to basic poses to develop strength, flexibility, balance and focus.

The Adult Coed Softball League offered by Maple Valley Parks & Recreation is currently at capacity. All games are played at Patrick's Field in Lake Wilderness Park on weekday evenings starting May 19th.
Players' Pool: Some teams may need additional players so if you would like to be added to the Players' Pool with the possibility of being added to a current team please email the Recreation Coordinator with your experience and age to mark.ratcliffe@ci.maple-valley.wa.us.

September 6 - November 15
The six-on-six, Non-Contact Adult Flag Football league will be offered this fall for ages 18 and over. Teams play on a modified field with an intermediate size football and are guaranteed 1 jamboree game, 7 regular season games, and the top 4 teams in each of the 2 divisions will advance to the playoffs. The divisions of play offered this season will be Recreational and Competitive.
The 2008 team fee is $470 and checks must be made payable to the City of Maple Valley. Registration begins July 14th. Returning teams must register before July 28th to guarantee placement. Registration closes on Friday, August 22nd. The official flag football season begins play on September 6, 2008 and runs through mid-November. The divisions will be limited to 6 teams each with returning team having priority until July 29th.

To add a player to your team's roster please use the following form and return it PRIOR to participating to the Parks & Recreation Office via fax, mail or in person. The form may not be turned in or accepted at the game site.
