The Lake Management District Citizen Advisory Committee was established to evaluate the activities of the Lake Management District, a special assessment district, established to eradicate the noxious aquatic weed Eurasian watermilfoil from Lake Wilderness. The special assessment district sunset December 31, 2006 and a new Lake Wilderness Citizen Advisory Committee was established to partner with staff to determine future aquatic plant management activities.
The Lake Wilderness CAC is striving to limit the re-infestation of Lake Wilderness by Eurasian watermilfoil, determining how and in what areas native weeds should be further controlled, and what educational efforts should be carried out to inform lake users about lake management activities. An updated plan, Integrated Aquatic Vegetation Management Plan (IAVMP) [PDF], addressing these questions was approved by the Department of Ecology in February 2005 and then by the City Council in April 2005. Additionally in 2005, the City Council approved a 10 year budget (2007-2016) to carry out program activities outlined in the IAVMP.

The Lake Wilderness CAC meets quarterly at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake Wilderness Lodge. Notices of all meetings are posted at City Hall, the library, the Tahoma School District Central Services Facility, and on the City's website. Please check back for future meeting dates.
