The City Council established an Economic Development Committee (EDC) to review and recommend to the City Council activities that will further economic development within the City of Maple Valley.
In the interest of proactively pursuing economic development opportunities and fostering a positive environment for private sector investment, the City sought to include in the committee membership a diverse and balanced cross section of residents and commercial interests.
The EDC has seven voting members, two ex officio members, and two alternate members. Members are selected for two-year terms with initial appointments made to establish an alternating vacancy schedule. Members are sought through an open recruitment process, are selected without respect to political affiliation, serve without compensation, appointed through recommendation by the Mayor and confirmation by a majority vote of the City Council. Staff support is provided by the City Manager's office. Current members are:

The Economic Development Committee meets the second Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m at City Hall, 22017 SE Wax Road, Suite 200, Maple Valley. All meetings are open to the public.

An Annotated Agenda that shows formal action taken by the Committee at each meeting will be posted to the website as soon as feasible following each Committee meeting. Beginning January 2010, once the formal Minutes of each meeting have been approved by the Committee, the approved Minutes will be posted and the Annotated Agenda removed.
